ONGE, SOUTH DAKOTA — Bill and Deb Myers of Myers Performance Horses in St. Onge, South Dakota, are pleased to announce the 2026 Myers Performance Horses Online Production Sale, launching September 15-16, 2026. The 2026 sale represents more than 40 years of breeding, raising and training Western performance horses known for exceptional versatility, usability, athleticism and heart.

This year’s sale features a selection of performance horse prospects by some of the industry’s leading stallions, including $20M sire Frenchmans Guy, $1M+ sire Mr Sassy Frenchman, $1M+ sire Lucky Wonder Horse, CR Tuff Dual, and Ima Special Kindaguy. The offering includes one 3-year-old, nine 2-year-olds, two yearlings and two weanlings from more than 40 years of proven breeding. Among this year’s favorites is a bay 2-year-old filly, Luckyz Hot Toddy (Lucky Wonder Horse x Guys Hot Chocolate x Frenchmans Guy). 

“She’s from the same mare family as [futurity and ProRodeo winning mare] Guys Champagne Girl and Sky High Guy, who had more than $225,000 in barrel racing earnings before all the incentives,” Bill explained. “She’s just a superstar looking horse and a beautiful mover, and she has great genetics on the bottom side. She’s one of my top picks.”

The sale’s sole 3-year-old, Sassy Disarray (Mr Sassy Frenchman x Disarray x Dash Ta Fame) also tops Bill’s list of favorites. 

“That mare is out of a really nice mare, Disarray, who has produced a lot of winners for us,” Bill said. “She’s another standout in my mind. Then we have a handful of other outstanding prospects I think people will really be excited to see.”

The sale is slated to begin on September 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. MST. Bidding will remain open through September 16, 2026, with Lot 1 scheduled to begin closing at 5:30 p.m. MST. Each subsequent lot will begin closing three minutes later, allowing bidders to stay engaged throughout the sale. If a bid is placed during the closing period of a lot, the countdown will automatically extend, giving all interested buyers an equal opportunity to continue bidding until no additional bids are received.

A two-year-old filly by Lucky Wonder Horse out of Guy’s Movida Jet (full sister to A Smooth Guy) topped the Myers Performance Horse prospect sale at $45,250. Myers’ first-ever fully online production sale was held on Oct. 19-20, 2025. 

The sale marked another milestone in the Myers family’s long-standing breeding legacy that began more than forty years ago. The horse that put their program on the map was a palomino weanling they picked up in 1987, who went on to be an AQHA Hall of Fame twenty-million-dollar-sire, Frenchmans Guy. This year’s sale showcased offspring of their outcross stallion Lucky Wonder Horse, as well as weanlings, yearlings and riding prospects by Frenchmans Guy’s proven sons Ima Special Kindaguy and Mr Sassy Frenchman, plus junior sire CR Tuff Dual.

The second-high seller at $36,500 was two-year-old Sheza Sassy Cowgirl, by Mr Sassy Frenchman out of Cowgirls Cartel (sired by Cowboys Cartel), and was purchased by Richard Smith of Virginia. Other top sellers included Shez Got Special Fame (Ima Special Kindaguy x Miss Dash Of Fame by Dash Ta Fame) who went to Oklahoma for $35,250, Frenchmans Guy broodmare, Guys Isabella stayed in South Dakota for $35,250 and Jess Callme Mr Sassy (Mr Sassy Frenchman x Patrons Hot Lil Sis by Hot Colours) who went to Florida for $30,000. The two home-raised Frenchmans Guy broodmares were the top of conversation for a lot of people. Guys Isabella (Frenchmans Guy x Miss Laico Six by Streakin Six), in foal to Junior Stallion CR Tuff Dual, is staying in South Dakota. Wave Goodbye Guys (Frenchmans Guy x Lehi Rose by Special Effort) is headed to California in foal to Lucky Wonder Horse, and brought $28,000. 

The riding 2-year-olds averaged $31,071 with Lucky Wonder Horse’s $45,250, Mr Sassy Frenchman’s $33,250, and Ima Special Kindaguy’s $26,438. Yearlings bringing an average of $13,208, and weanlings averaging $9,100. Frenchmans Guy Broodmares averaged $31,625. The overall sale average was $18,106.

For the first time ever, the barrel racing industry’s fourth-ranked breeders of all-time are holding a prospect sale entirely online. The sale on Oct. 19-20 – the first in five years held by Myers Performance Horses – will feature more than 30 performance prospects. 

The online sale includes 11 well-started colts and 14 yearlings and weanlings – most packing the blood of the late Frenchmans Guy. With $20 million in progeny earnings and a recent AQHA Hall of Fame induction, he’s the second-greatest sire and grandsire of barrel horses.

Sale horses include a weanling and a few excellent broodmares in foal with 2026 babies by Myers’ new 6-year-old roping futurity stallion CR Tuff Dual – by the $13 million cowhorse sire Woody Be Tuff out of a daughter of the $26 million sire Dual Pep, ARC Catty Dual earner of $168,764 and producer of over $1.2 million. And watch for some nice 2-year-olds by the palomino stallion Ima Special Kindaguy, out of a daughter of Special Leader (speed index 103). Those prospects include a buckskin colt out of a PYC Paint Your Wagon daughter and a palomino filly out of a Dash Ta Fame daughter. 

“In Myers horses, you get speed but don’t lose that good common sense,” said Bill Myers. “They can fly. Plus, they’re cowy and know how to rate, so they’re real easy to train. Mentally, they can handle the pressure.”

Others are by Mr Sassy Frenchman, out of Jess Sass Me (speed index 107), whose 7-year-old daughter Yes I’m Sassy has already earned $168,223 as a head horse, and was the second-highest earning rope horse six-and-under in 2024. Plus, a few offerings are by Lucky Wonder Horse, the 2015 buckskin by First Down Dash (speed index 105) out of the NFR barrel mare Rosas Cantina CC. His 4-year-old son Wonder If Im Lucky has already earned more than $246,000 at barrel futurities for Heidi Gunderson, who said he “will bury his hind end and is so athletic that he has a ton of push out of his turns.”

Progeny of Myers stallions are eligible for numerous futurity incentives including Future Fortunes, Royal Crown, Breeder’s Challenge, Tomorrow’s Legends, The Diamond Classic, WPRA PESI, 5-state/Nexus, Gridiron, Colorado Classic, Cowboy State, VCBRA, Cornhuskers, BRIF, Riata Buckle, Gold Buckle, GBF Elite Breeders, Young Guns League, Lucky 7 Bonus, and Pink and Ruby Buckles.

Heidi Gunderson had high hopes for Wonder If I’m Lucky (“Casey”), owned by her good friend Shannon Kulseth. She had even suggested that Kulseth try to find a slot to buy for the OKC Futurity in December.

After Casey’s first pass through the timers at the Lazy E Arena, she was glad that Kulseth hadn’t bought a slot.

“He spooked at the first barrel, got scared of the people in the chair at the second barrel, hit it, got scared of the people in the chair at the third barrel… I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ We had showcased him a couple of times back home and he clocked really well, but he was so spooky and scared at the BFA. I thought I’m going to have to send him a lot harder, so he quits looking at things.”

Gunderson’s game plan worked. Although Casey looked around a little at the first barrel on the first run, their 15.540 placed seventh in the round. They came back with a 15.284, the fastest run by a 3-year-old, to win the second round and the aggregate for the 315-entry, $50,000-added BFA Juvenile.

“It really was a dream come true,” said Gunderson. “The best trainers and horses in the country are there. You go and you just want your colts to have a good showing, and to win it… I honestly feel like it was a gift from God. I know the horse had the ability, but you’re competing against so many good horses and good trainers… I’m just in shock.”

Kulseth purchased Casey as a coming 2-year-old for $14,000 at the 2022 OKC Futurity Sale. Bred by Stephanie Langford-Cleveland, the Lucky Wonder Horse gelding was out of TS Sunnys Superstar, by PC Mr Sun Peppy.

“She was like, ‘Oh, should I buy this one? Do you have room to take him home?’ I said, ‘Sure.’ We’ve had him ever since. The funny thing is, Shannon forgot at times that he was even here. She had six horses here at one time and she literally said once, ‘Oh, I forgot about him.’ We joke and tease that he’s the forgotten horse to be forgotten no more!” laughed Gunderson.

Gunderson’s husband Mark started Casey under saddle.

“We’ve loved him the entire time,” she said. “He was super easy to train and moved his feet right. He’s willing. He’s never been a horse that anything was difficult for him. It was easy to teach him.”

The only hole in Casey was his spooky nature away from home.

“I hauled him a lot this summer just to get him exposed because he was so spooky,” she said. “I brought him to as many places as I could because the first time I took him somewhere, he ran as hard as he could in the opposite direction from everything!”

Knowingly, Gunderson took the opportunity to get Casey to the BFA during the first weekend for the ride time and Open races.

“I thought I just needed to get him in the pen as much as I could. That’s his only thing. He’s looky and watchy. I thought I needed to get up there and get him in the pen.”

Her efforts paid off handsomely with a $20,495 Juvenile Championship and $2,000 in Future Fortunes bonus money.

“We knew he was nice, but this was something none of us predicted,” she said. “He’s obviously nicer than we even could have thought.”

Gunderson said Casey will likely have a light schedule during the winter months since she lives in Murdock, Minnesota.

“You only get a chance at horses like this every once in a while,” she said. “I want to give him all the chances that I can give him, but I do live in Minnesota. I do have a son in high school and a teaching job—I teach online so I can work wherever I am—but my kids are wrestlers, and I don’t want to miss their seasons. After Oklahoma City, we’ll sit down and decide where we want to take him. I, for sure, am going to go in April and do the Diamond Classic and Ruby. Wrestling season through the first weekend in March is pretty intense in our household. There’s a lot of futurity season from March on.”
